I wasn’t familiar with The Chapman House until we had to find a place for my aunt to live. I quickly became impressed with their facility and the staff. They are so friendly, caring and accommodating and kept us well informed. They took such great care of my aunt, which was so comforting to the family.

April 2025 Announcement

Dear Family Member:

Though the calendar indicates Spring is upon us, old man Winter is not ready for his summer vacation. However, April showers will hold the promise of greenery and flowers, as well as warmer days. As the saying goes, “If you don’t like the weather in Maine, wait a moment and it will change.”

From the Maintenance desk:

Traditionally, Spring is a time to tidy up and clean away the debris of the long winter months. In last month’s newsletter, electrical requirements were addressed, and Bob is working to get sufficient outlets wired into resident rooms. An invitation is being extended to you to schedule a time for a safety walk-through of your loved ones’ living space to ensure that environmental standards are met. If you would like a walk through with maintenance and the Administrator, please reach out to Bob or Bonnie at 207-783-0961.

Sign in and out at the FRONT DESK: You may have noticed that the sign in/sign out sheet has moved to the receptionist area. Please sign in before each visit when you enter the building and remember to sign out when you leave. Also, when taking your loved one out, you MUST sign them out and back in on this sheet. This sheet is used to track who is in our building for emergency and safety reasons. Please help us keep you and your loved one safe and secure.

Our second Partners in Care Family Meeting, in conjunction with Andwell Health Partners, will be held April 30, 2025, from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM at The Chapman House. Chapman House, along with Andwell Health Partners, plans to offer family members the opportunity to share resources and learn together through these monthly meetings. To achieve this goal, however, your assistance is requested. The April 30th meeting will be an informational gathering time for planning these meetings. How can we help you? What topics, concerns, and questions do you have as you navigate the continuum of care with your loved one? Conversations are confidential and important as future goals/strategies are created to provide quality services in an increasingly confusing system to understand and maneuver.

As our plans for summer evolve, outings, as part of the activity fun, are the ultimate target. Family members/friends are encouraged to join their loved one for these events. The hope is to continue to collaborate with you and your loved ones for the best and most satisfying experience at The Chapman House. Please share any suggestions or ideas you may have with us. Volunteers are encouraged to help at The Chapman House in a variety of ways. If you want to participate with your loved one or volunteer, please connect with Sheryll – Activity Coordinator to synchronize your time with planned events.

The Staff Members and The Board of Directors want to thank all our residents, families, and vendors for enabling us to make The Chapman House a home.
