I wasn’t familiar with The Chapman House until we had to find a place for my aunt to live. I quickly became impressed with their facility and the staff. They are so friendly, caring and accommodating and kept us well informed. They took such great care of my aunt, which was so comforting to the family.

April 24 Announcement

Dear Family Member:

My fondest memory of April is splashing in the mud and the muck, breaking the thin layer of ice on puddles and winning cats’ eye in a challenging game of marbles with my schoolmates. Though the rains in April bring mud and puddles, April promises budding flowers, the return of colorful birds and the chance to enjoy the benefits of warmer weather. In the season of changes, things are evolving at The Chapman House as well.

Please welcome James McLamb as the Maintenance Director. James has a background in public service. James has owned and ran his own business within the construction industry and holds experience within various levels of managerial roles. While transitioning to his new role, James is looking forward to meeting residents, family, and staff.

Gil, the Director of Food Service, will be changing the process for the managing of our snack cart beginning May 1, 2026. The 7:00pm Snack cart will go to each lady’s room as is the current practice. The snack cart consists of the menu items for that day. Items available in the Activity kitchen, twentyfour (24) hours a day, are Pudding, Jello, Apple Sauce, Oreos, Peanut butter crackers, and Lorna Doone cookies.

After the confinement of Winter, a declutter and rearrange creates a feeling of refreshment and at the same time, boosts mood, improves sleep and helps with relaxation. If you are working with your loved one to freshen up her room, please ask staff for any help you may require.

Our first Family Meeting for 2026 scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 5:30 -7:00 PM will be an educational session on memory loss and dementia. Chris Foss from Andwell Health Partners will be a guest speaker at this meeting. The Chapman House plans to offer family members the opportunity to share resources, conversation, and learn together through these monthly meetings. Your input is crucial in planning this meeting for you. Your time to share ideas is appreciated.

The hope is to continue to collaborate with you and your loved ones for the best and most satisfying experience at The Chapman House. Please share any input or suggestions you may have with us. The Staff Members and The Board of Directors want to thank all our residents, families, and vendors for enabling us to make The Chapman House a home.

Warm Regards,
