I wasn’t familiar with The Chapman House until we had to find a place for my aunt to live. I quickly became impressed with their facility and the staff. They are so friendly, caring and accommodating and kept us well informed. They took such great care of my aunt, which was so comforting to the family.

From the Maintenance desk:

Bob, Maintenance Director, is focusing on emergency preparedness and safety as warm weather gets underway. If you choose to reorganize and/or Spring clean your loved one’s room, and need help, please let Bob know (207-783-0961). Due to regulatory and safety requirements the following are not allowed in resident rooms: extension cords, heating pads, electric blankets, portable heating devices, as well as clothes irons. Wax burners, candle melts, candles or plug-in air refreshers are also prohibited.

Update Inventory Lists:

The resident and/or her agent/responsible party will be required to complete an inventory sheet upon admission, and annually, of personal property.  Chapman House is not liable or responsible for the loss or damage of property of significant value. This property may include, but is not limited to, items such as jewelry, radios, televisions, dentures, computers, etc. When items are taken home, discarded, or added, the list should be updated through contact with clinical staff. Our third Partners in Care Family Meeting, in conjunction with Andwell Health Partners, will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM at The Chapman House. Chapman House, along with Andwell Health Partners, plans to offer family members the opportunity to share resources and learn together through these monthly meetings. To achieve this goal, however, your assistance is requested in helping us with topics you as a family member would like to discuss. Conversations are confidential and important as future goals/strategies are created to provide quality services in an increasingly confusing system to understand and maneuver. Thank you to the family members who attended in April. Please let Bonnie know if you any questions regarding this forum.

Thank you for your patience during the recent changes in our dietary department. Sheryll, Activity Coordinator, has graciously served this position in the interim. Currently, a selection process is occurring for the Food Service Director. Temporarily, activities are occurring in a modified fashion. Exercise, movies, morning coffee, crafts with Carly (or games), Bingo and live entertainment are being offered. The plan is have Sheryll back in activities as quickly as feasible.

The Staff Members and The Board of Directors want to thank all our residents, families, and vendors for enabling us to make The Chapman House a home.
