Our staff includes a registered nurse, personal support specialists, dietary aides, certified residential medical aides (CRMA), an activities director, cooks, house keepers, and laundry and maintenance personnel. The staff to resident ratio allows for quality care and extra personal services.

I have worked for The Chapman House for 25 years. I started out in the kitchen as the dietary aide/cook and then decided to try working in other areas of the house like housekeeping, direct care, CRMA, and now activities, which I enjoy so much. In my free time I enjoy camping, crafts, cooking, and being with friends and family. I am so proud to work for The Chapman House.

My name is Jason Butler I am longtime resident of Lewiston. I have been in the culinary field for over 20 years, studied at Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island. I have worked in a variety of settings from healthcare and schools to high-end restaurants and diners. I have an Associate’s degree in culinary arts and am Serv Safe certified. I enjoy spending time outside with my 2 boys and my wife, traveling, and sightseeing. l really enjoy my work. I love the connections with people and providing home-cooked meals with local ingredients :-).

Mike comes to The Chapman House with 30-plus years of maintenance experience. The Chapman House is well maintained and kept safe and clean with Mike leading his team. His experience and skills are exceptional. Mike enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Bonnie J. Iwans

Administrator

My name is Bonnie J. Iwans and I have been the Administrator at The Chapman House since March of 2021. I have worked at The Chapman House since January of 2021 and am looking forward to many years of contributing to the contentment and well-being of those who live and work in this beautiful facility.

I am licensed with the State of Maine Nursing Home Board as a Multi-level Nursing Home Administrator, and with the State of Maine Social Work Board as a Licensed Social Worker. I trained in residents rights and dementia, led staff trainings, and facilitated support groups.  Currently, I serve on the Advisory Board for Central Maine Community College – Human Services Department.

My professional career has been in residential and long-term care. I have held positions as a Director of Social Services and Administrator for many years in Maine. I have been involved in community events throughout my career and enjoy volunteering my time.

I was raised in the Oxford Hills Area of Maine. Me and my significant other, Michael, enjoy outdoor activities, motorcycle rides, and our two puppies, Emma and Benny.
